In Progress

Apron, originally uploaded by Viteen.

This is a custom order - a gift for a gal getting married in August. The cherries are a pocket. The neck strap and the ties are purple, and I'll need to put black ric-rac on the hem as well. I hand applied the green leaves, and then machine stitched them as well. All of the embroidery is hand-done. I will be making a matching wine bottle cozy as well. It will be my first miniature apron.

This project was a fun collaboration with the client/friend. She came by with some fabric scraps, and some strips of ribbon with colors that she wanted me to work with. In just as hour or so we were able to come up with the fabrics we wanted to work with, the colors and the theme. I love custom orders - heck, I just love orders!

Okay, not only is just the idea of a cherries-shaped pocket great, the detail of white lines that make them look like they are reflecting light is genius. Excellent!

Thanks Blaize!
I obsessed over those highlights just a little bit!

Blaize is right! The whole concept rocks, but the highlights are masterful!
