One for me and one for a friend's mom.
My friend Diane asked me to make a hat for her mom. I had just the idea of which fabric to use - a beautiful heathery blue/grey wool I got a remnant of a few weeks ago. I also used this fabric to make Woody's winter coat!
I had been wanting to make myself a hat from the fabric, and with the order from Diane it was the perfect opportunity. It's not that much harder to make 2 of something - the cutting is a big part of the job, and you just gang it up. I used the bird on a wire lining for my friend's hat, and used a heavy flannel for mine. That's the one thing these wool caps lack - they don't really keep your head warm when it's really cold. I was concerned that the flannel would be so heavy that the flannel wouldn't drape at all and the hat would stand straight up - but that didn't happen - I'm really happy with the way it looks on my head!
